Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started & Booking
How do I rent a dumpster from CH Roll Offs?
Book online in a few minutes, or call us at 208-690-4716 to discuss your project. We'll confirm your size, delivery date, and total price upfront.
How fast can I get a dumpster delivered?
Same-day and next-day delivery is available in most cases, depending on your location and current availability. Book online or call to check your delivery window.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
Not necessarily — but it helps for the first delivery so our driver can confirm exactly where you'd like it placed. If you can't be there, leave clear placement instructions and keep your phone nearby so the driver can reach you.
How much space do I need to clear for delivery?
About 60 ft of straight-line space and roughly 20+ ft of overhead clearance for the delivery truck. Move vehicles and obstacles out of the drop-off area ahead of time to avoid delays.
Pricing & Fees
How much does a dumpster rental cost?
$345 for our 16-yard dumpster and $395 for our 22-yard dumpster, each covering a 48-hour rental period. Additional days are $25/day.
What's included in the price?
Delivery, pickup, and disposal for up to 1 ton (2,000 lbs) of material. Material beyond that is billed at $0.07 per pound.
Are there any hidden fees?
No — we quote you the full price upfront. Additional charges can apply for extra rental days, excess weight, a bin swap, or a failed delivery/pickup due to blocked access — all outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
Do you charge extra for locations outside your main service area?
Standard pricing applies within our core service area, including Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, Rigby, and Pocatello. Locations past American Falls, Inkom, or Rexburg may be subject to additional delivery charges, confirmed at the time of booking.
Choosing a Size
What size dumpster do I need?
For a single room or small cleanout, our 16-yard dumpster is usually enough. For a whole-home renovation or larger project, go with the 22-yard. See our full [Dumpster Sizes guide] for a side-by-side comparison, or call us and we'll help you choose.
What if I'm not sure and pick the wrong size?
Call us before you book if you're unsure. If you fill your dumpster early and need it swapped for a fresh one, note that a swap is billed as a new bin rental rather than a small add-on fee — so getting the size right upfront saves you from paying for two rentals.
What You Can and Can't Dispose Of
What can I put in the dumpster?
Household junk, furniture, yard waste, wood, drywall, roofing materials, and general construction and remodeling debris.
What's not allowed in the dumpster?
Hazardous materials (paint, oil, fuel, solvents, asbestos, chemicals), medical or biohazard waste, and flammable or explosive materials are strictly prohibited. Tires, batteries, and electronics aren't accepted by default, but can be allowed with pre-approval — call ahead if you have any of these.
What happens if I put a prohibited item in the dumpster?
Improper disposal may result in fines, refusal of service, or additional charges.
I only have a small amount of debris — is a dumpster still worth it?
If you have less than a truckload, it may be more cost-effective to haul it yourself to your County's Transfer Station. For anything more, a dumpster saves you multiple trips.
Placement & Permits
Do I need a permit to place a dumpster at my property?
If the dumpster stays on private property — your driveway or yard — no permit is required. If it needs to go on a street, sidewalk, or other public right-of-way, the City of Idaho Falls requires a permit; check current requirements and fees at [idahofallsidaho.gov/363/Right-Of-Way-Licenses-Permits]. Requirements vary by city, so if you're outside Idaho Falls, we can help you confirm what your local municipality requires.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
Our drivers take care during delivery and pickup, but per our Terms & Conditions, CH Roll Offs isn't responsible for damage to driveways, pavement, or lawns caused by dumpster placement or removal. For extra protection — especially on asphalt, pavers, or longer rentals — you're welcome to lay down plywood or boards under the dumpster before delivery.
Rental Period & Pickup
How long can I keep the dumpster?
Standard rental covers 48 hours, with additional days available at $25/day.
Can I extend my rental if my project runs long?
Yes — call or message us to extend at $25/day.
How do I schedule pickup when I'm done?
Just let us know through your booking confirmation, by phone, or email, and we'll schedule pickup — no need to be present as long as the dumpster is accessible and ready to go. Keep in mind rental begins at delivery, and blocked or inaccessible dumpsters at pickup time may incur additional fees.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled delivery are eligible for a refund. Same-day cancellations or failed deliveries due to customer error may result in a cancellation fee.
